For me, this is more like day 2. I was able to start writing my script yesterday and have made good progress so far. I am only on page 9, nearing the moment referred to by Black Snyder as the Catalyst. I hope to be close to done with Act 1 by the end of the day, which should put me around 25-30 pages.
A few notes I have for myself as I continue writing are: 1) Make sure things are always escalating – the escalations support the page count, 2) Setup, build, payoff – remember to work in threes for everything. Every scene needs to be a Setup for a Build that eventually will Payoff in the end. This goes for each scene as well. As a whole the script needs to have a Setup (Act 1), a Build (Act 2) and a Payoff (Act 3), each scene should also have a Setup (Scene Beginning), a Build (Tension moment or Middle of Scene) and Payoff (The conclusion of the scene).
Now on to writing. Remember I still need titles for my story. Submit your ideas and win prizes here. Title Contents
