Finally hit a nice groove, and while not all of it was great, it was at least some decent ground work for when I go back and do the rewrites.  A big hurdle with writing a screenplay, for me at least is hitting the turning point, and that is what I did today.  I’m a little be hind on the page count for where the turning point should take place but as I am writing I am discovering what missing elements I have left out of the script and I think I will be right on track once I do the rewrite.

But for some fun, as I am taking a break fro the rest of the day, I am sharing with you, draft one of the great “trailer moment speech.”  It hopefully has all the excitement and intrigue needed to keep you on the edge of your seat…and if it doesn’t, then it will when rewrites are complete.

Enjoy.

Specialist, I’ve been sitting on
this bitch for the past thirty
minutes trying to make it go away.
Time is ticking and I’ve done all
I could so far in locating any
damn redundancies or relays.

TECH SPECIALIST (O.S.)
I understand that, I just need to
know what I’m dealing with.

LIZ
Look at the damn pictures,
Specialist.  That’s everything
I’ve found, everything I know of.
Know this, and know it well.  We
are one click from annihilation,
one click from eternity with our
creator or we can be one click
from winning this damn war, one
click from me getting to find my
family, one click from freedom.
(beat)
I chose my words carefully,
Specialist.  We.  Because when
this thing goes boom, if it does,
I can guarantee that you’ll be
seeing the same bright lights I’ll
get to.  Now, how the hell do I
disarm this thing!?
